Summer

I long the days where her golden feathers flapped unapologetically,

flying to and from,

healthily,

bathed in sunlight,

with reddish pink cheeks and a tuneful melody.

She was my sun,

the embodiment of happiness,

of nature, sunkissed;

and of carefreeness,

I wish her claws could balance,

I wish her beak did not screech like so,

and I wish she could have spent more time where she belongs,

with the sun, shining upon her small body.

Yet all that remains now,

are the memories of her love to me,

and of a bright yellow figure,

carelessly expecting her return.
