STUPEFY
By Akshaya Varadharajan
Like an Angel, you came in my existence A pair of white wings were your gift So many pristine feathers were they made of Fluffy, soft and warm like my mother's embrace
Magic until you came, never made sense Your spell as strong as your grip on my wrist Before my feet floated following yours, the Seraph The soft flap behind me was new yet with full of grace.
My mind stupefied but eyes never once wavering I went along with whatever you offered And welcoming us was the infinite ocean above us Irrational was everything, but too true to deny
Slowly your presence faded, hence decreased the savouring There began all my fear and yeah I suffered Your once secure hands shoved me like you had a suss Traumatised, all I could ask you was Why??
Thought I was dead until my lips slipped a heavy sigh Dream? I questioned myself in a daze No, said the white wings that were still intact Inviting the pearls from my eyes as its decor
Red and dirt were hue added for the fall from sky so high Thrown on me were judgemental words and gaze I'm fine, I'm alright, it's nothing, I'm strong I act While every night, pillows wet as your actions recur
From you, an answer is all I need When my feathers slowly began withering Yet they were always plucked and cut What should I cry and weep for now?
Maybe it's all part of a planned tragic when I was just a seed Yeah I can't fly but what's with this slithering? Meant to be a flower but I've become a nut It's time I bloom and yet I don't know how.
