Strong

What does it mean to be strong?

Does it mean emotional stability…

Or not having the ability - to feel, to love, to empathise,

And not sympathise.

Is it not being attached, or completely detached?

Sounds like the Buddha or Sufis or Masters,

Who are enlightened above the earthly ties and illusions.

But are we in constant delusion?

Am I becoming strong by controlling my emotions?

Detaching from the world, from the people I love and those who love me back.

Not experiencing love in its purest form, afraid of what the future might hold,

Relationships come with a lot of pain, isn’t it good just to be cold?

Cutting off the chords slowly so that it’s not an agony later,

And it doesn’t all at once explode.

I can say I am becoming bold,

But am I still a human, can this be told?
