Stress

By Veeda Kazi

It overpowers my everyday thinking,

I appear to be afloat,

But secretly, I’m sinking

Multiple thoughts clustering my head,

I want to shout out but it’s all left unsaid

We all are tied to this deadly bomb,

But have different ways of blasting,

The after effect of this blow up on us is flabbergasting.

Hands trembling, nail biting and tension covering your face,

One petty task undone makes you restless,

You feel that you’re drowning,

But you’re just at the surface.

The more you suppress it, the more it eats you up

Be careful it erupts like a volcano

It can only be reduced it cannot be stopped.

It spreads within me like wildfire,

That keeps aggravating within

Happiness and peace is what I strongly desire.

So just let your soul drown in the world of passion,

Dance, sing and have fun

But don’t let stress disrupt your ambition.
