Story Of The Lemon Tree

I am a lemon tree growing alone

I wish someone would take me home

The more lonely I feel, the less I grow

While all other loved lemon trees grow in a row

I prayed for this wish, just this once

Please take me home someone

One day a boy saw me and told his mother

I want this lemon tree and no other

I couldn’t believe my wish was granted

Being with a family was all I wanted

They took me home and I felt glad

I thanked God in a happy way, not sad

The boy had two sisters and a brother

For breakfast they usually had chapatti and butter

They played around me with their toys

I felt completely overjoyed

Quickly my flowers started to bloom

Fruit was going to come very soon

Was growing faster because of the love

I also became the friend of a dove

Soon I became very useful

They enjoyed getting my ripe fruit with push and pull

I didn’t know how useful I could be

They made lemonade, pickles and salads for free

I was most loved by the little boy

In winters he made a lemon decoy

Even though in winter season I felt cold

Love is what I needed to be gold

That’s all I can tell about my life this time

Thankyou for visiting this world of lime
