Still mine

TE Katushabe

It's been so long since you left,

The memories of us are all I've kept.

They tell me healing is letting go,

But how do I leave the only home I know?

Every smile I share feels like a lie,

Like betraying your memory every time I try.

Moving on without you feels unfaithful,

And every breath I've taken since has been so painful.

So I'll carry you where no eyes can see,

In the quiet corners of what's left of me.

And if heaven ever grants one final embrace,

I'll love you still through all of endless grace.

Someone else may hold my hand someday,

But my heart will awlays kneel where you walked away.

And though the world keeps pulling me ahead,

A part of me still lives with the words we left unsaid.

They say time will heal every scar,

That I am brave for having gotten this far.

But what I wouldn't give to rewind time,

To when I was still yours and you were still mine.
