The other day I scrolled through my feed and stumbled across a video that illustrated how much our lives have changed in the last twenty-five years. In simple terms, it portrayed a difference between the type of lifestyle we had in 1995 and what we have today.
I found the video to be quite vexatious. Several of the pictures took me by surprise and provoked me so much that I couldn't resist writing about them. In fact, I screenshotted the picture that I thought was the most disturbing and insensitive.
In the picture, two women can be seen. As of 1995, the woman was using traditional kitchen equipment for cooking food and was considerably thinner than she should have been. As a contrast, the woman from the present used all of the modern-day equipment and was overweight. It appears that the painter wanted to make fun of the current generation of women and also the technology of the time.
I find it difficult to comprehend why some people constantly disparage technological and scientific advancements. The idea was put together by numerous people who put in significant effort, time, effort, and patience. In addition, they have proven to be extremely helpful to millions of people. Some people, however, want to stay in the stone age. They seem to have mindsets from that era.
It appears that the picture suggests that women should continue to work hard and serve everyone. It's not even appropriate for her to use the latest equipment that simplifies her job. Is a woman only made for taking care of the home and doing chores around the house?
The painter also facilitated body shaming in an inappropriate way. There are people who suddenly believe they are entitled to make slanderous comments about someone's body. Bringing up someone's weight is extremely disrespectful.
A span of twenty-five years was sufficient for bringing a revolutionary change but fell short of widening your horizons.
