Starving Past The Farmhouse Cage

To the woods where does he go,

The lone old soul who’s called back home,

Far out past the town-hall lights,

Where stars stretch free to stain the night.

His small blue dog must think it strange,

To stray far past the farmhouse cage.

Far from folk who bind rules with weight,

To live free in peace so he may sate.

A child beyond cries hymns in fear,

Her mum is dead and nowhere near.

But he would stay to watch the snow,

Fall off the trees down to the grove…

The moon is out, he cannot wait,

The wolf is starved, he can’t be late…
