Stars Behind My Tears

broken emotions stream down,

i hide my tears like stars in the sky.

my watery eyes gleam- a pearl through the haze-

yet i refuse to lean on another.

i hold on,

with a stubborn upper lip.

a shadow of unease clouds my mind.

once more, thoughts murmur, “why me?”

grief settles, a quiet, aching weight,

yet deep in my heart, a voice holds firm:

“all will be fine tomorrow.”
