I see glimpses of my past, in you
Of glittering stars
In the looming night
Blankets of warmth
Against the backdrop,
Of a cold life
Rain splattering mindlessly
Engaging in a conversation
With the wind, screeching
Blood trickling away
In my veins
Burning; a wildfire
Two eyes meeting
And then glancing away
Keeping distance,
Lest the parallel lines
Converge
A heady combination
Of longing,
Of heartbreak, Intertwined
Like the old roots
Of a twisted tree
Like a fog
Of gossamer
Just hazy enough
To trip up on
Of my sighs and cries
And the worst ending
A mind gone mad
Thoughts piling on
Spilling through
Keeping me close enough
Yet so, so, far
A galaxy away
Into the black hole,
I wander around
Alone and lonely;
I see glimpses of my past, in you
And this time
I look away
Before I fall
Again.
