Standing Tall

Look at the fury of the wind

Looks like the trees have no whim

Some are slim some huge and some in between

The wind says "what a win",

An old one while shaking sometimes here, sometimes there

Sighs and says

"Don't be silly, without wit you are.”

Don't you see, All, see your presence because of us the trees.

We may be shaken up by you, drenched in the rain or made to hide in the snow....

But we still hold our ground.

The humans think they are strong and cut us down fast without a thought.

But we are a nature which nurtures them.

I have seen some who pretend to be wowed and sing praises of us

They use us and abuse us.

I swear I saw the other day, a man hit another with one of us,

So they called it a Cane.

What a shame

When the forests burn with us. Destroying oh so many precious us.

And then I discover that it was an absent minded boy who lit a campfire and destroyed the whole clan of ours.

Oh what a shame

What a shame...

Let us live in peace you people

For if you give a thought we are stronger than you are.

Give some thought

Give some thought.
