Spring

A wave of cold renders everything lifeless,

The flowers shrivel and disappear.

The earth is colorless and in a mess,

The gloominess is severe.

And then comes along the light of spring,

The earth comes alive the flowers bloom.

The butterflies and bees and birds sing,

And the air is filled with its beautiful perfume.

Like this blossoming spring you did arrive,

And your eyes locked in mine.

My shriveled heart came alive,

And in your mahogany eyes I saw a look so benign.

My ice-cold heart transitioned to spring.

Those lonely cold winters came to an end,

Color in my life you managed to bring,

With your alluring heart you did descend.

On a lonely girl whose heart was sealed,

With that sweet crooked smile, all my pains and scars you healed.
