Sonnet #9 - You’re All Just Trying to Keep It Together Like Me

You’re all just trying to keep it together like me, are you not?

Holding the pieces of our lives by the sheer grasp of our hands.

Cracks in our foundations may form, but we still need to hold on with everything we’ve got,

Or otherwise we risk a fault, and upon the world comes the flood from our broken dam.

It’s these struggles that plague our very existence.

Life - the cruel, sadistic mistress we all love.

For life is not to be taken as such, but forced upon us, to live it out instance by instance,

And find peace on all angles - below, beside, and from above.

Little of my struggles is known about by you,

And I am not privy to yours.

For I have no idea what you’ve been through,

And you have no idea what I’ve endured.

It’s in this mind, and with these words I say:

Tread carefully with one another - we are all just taking things day by day.
