Soms praat ek nog met God

Soms sit ek stil en staar oor die horison,
Met ’n hart wat breek voor die son,
Ek lê my siel kaal in die sand,
Met meer vrae as wat ek kan verstaan.
Die wolke trek swaar oor my kop,
My gebede voel soms te stomp,
Ek maak my oë toe en praat,
Met God, en ek smeek Hom vir raad.
Die wind fluister oor my vel,
Maar my binneste bly my skel.
Alles wat was, kom klop weer aan.
My foute leer my hoe om te staan,
Al wil ek val…
Soms praat ek nog met God in die donker nag,
En ek wonder of Hy my hoor, of net wag.
Weet Hy hoe die lewe my breek en spot?
Hoe ek veg om te glo, maar steeds aan Hom klop.
“Here, ek’s moeg, ek’s leeg geveg,
My siel is swaar, my hart is opreg,
Kom haal my, as U my sien,
Kom haal my… asseblief.”
Die son skyn warm, maar net op plekke,
My vel brand onder sy tekens.
My gedagtes maal sonder rus.
Elke fout fluister: “Dis alles jou skuld”,
Ek haat wie ek was, ek vrees wat kom.
Ek’s vasgevang tussen waar ek gaan en waar ek vandaan kom.
Ek smag na vrede, net ’n oomblik se rus,
Iets wat sê ek’s nog nie verlore nie, net bewus.
My hart klop stadig teen my bors,
My geloof voel dun en bros.
Ek staan hier alleen en klein,
In ’n wêreld wat te groot wil wees vir my pyn.
Soms praat ek nog met God in die donker nag,
En ek wonder of Hy my hoor, of net wag.
Weet Hy hoe die lewe my breek en spot?
Hoe ek veg om te glo, maar steeds aan Hom klop
“Here, ek’s moeg, ek’s leeg geveg
My siel is swaar, my hart is opreg
Kom haal my, as U my sien
Kom haal my… asseblief.”
As U daar is - sê iets, wys ’n lig,
Want ek dra hierdie kruis te lank alleen, te dig.
Ek vra nie vir antwoorde of nog ’n teken nie,
Net ’n fluister wat sê: “My kind, Ek sien”.
As U swyg, leer my hoe om te bly,
As U luister, leer my hoe om rus te kry,
Want ek kan nie meer sterk wees alleen,
Ek’s net mens… en ek’s gedaan en ek ween...
Soms praat ek nog met God, al twyfel ek nog,
Al breek my geloof onder elke slag en skok.
As Hy hoor hoe my siel in stilte skree,
Sal Hy weet dis nie sonde om moeg te wees nie.
“Here, ek’s moeg, ek’s leeg geveg,
Maar ek staan nog hier - kaal en opreg.
As U my nie kom haal vandag nie,
Leer my net… hoe om môre te dra.’’
Soms praat ek nog met God,
Al weet ek nie of Hy hoor nie.
Maar selfs in my twyfel,
Praat ek… nog steeds… met Hom.
