Sometimes

Sometimes I find myself begging for love

Sometimes I can’t even bother,

Sometimes I plead to the one up above

To give all my sins a slaughter,

Sometimes I wish to be held high

Otherwise, I wish to be alone,

Sometimes I want to fly and touch the sky

Otherwise, peace holds me on the ground I roam,

Sometimes I feel that the pen is my greatest friend

Otherwise, I look it as a rival,

Pen’s a friend, which taught me friendship must end,

The pen is the lone cause of my survival,

I helped others find their paths

Now among those same trails I’m entangled,

To survive the river of sadness I built rafts,

Rafts of emotions I killed and strangled

And now I put my pen down

Knowing it separated me from the herd,

Sometimes it made sad with a frown

Sometimes it understood me without saying a word.
