They see me once in a while

at parties,

Holding a cup of coffee to to

their champagne

Aren’t you a little too old not to drink ?

They would ask

Soon, they would discuss about

their degrees, salaries to thier political interests and what not.

I would say One to their ten’s

And they would add another ten

before I go Two

They wear the wrist watch on the right

whilst mine sits on the left

I would check the time

It would already be 20minutes late

to the time you said you would come

I would be nervous, searching for

you through the room

Time would pass and they would

move on

Finally I would see you around marching towards me

Delighted to see me light up

We would spend the night cracking jokes

We would go all in that everybody

else would join in

They would say, “I have never seen you like this before”

And I would quietly say to myself,

Because some people are worth opening up for,

But only Some people are worth opening up for.

And that’s Okay.!
