Some Nights

By Veeda Kazi

Some nights are calm and still,

Some nights I’m sleepless sitting by the windowsill.

Some nights I lay wide awake on my bed,

Some nights I can’t divert the thoughts in my head.

Some nights I forget the world and soundly sleep,

Some nights I breathlessly weep.

Some nights I think about existence and what’s my part,

Some nights I can’t handle my painful heart.

Some nights I’m happy and cheerful in my group,

But the truth is,

Some nights, go on loop.
