This solitude might end me

It will make me hide all the parts I show

It was there for a moment,

the feeling of having multiple someone’s

but then gone before I could process it

It might have been a favor to me so,

Why do I despise this?

“Distance makes the heart grow fonder,”

they say

and I would’ve agreed

but my poor heart seems to contrast

It feels estranged and alienated

nowhere near ‘fonder’

However,

I am not alone

for I am escorted by some miserable hope

It tells me that I do have a companion

who perceives as deeply as I do

who weeps a deluge, and

who feels this solitude

will write the epilogue of their life.
