Solitude

SOLITUDE
In the deafening silence of solitude, Your mind exposed and naked. No one to hide from, Nothing to hide,
The stillness reins you in.
Repressed emotions and painful thoughts, Bludgeoned to the back of your mind.
Inch their way slowly to the surface,
Eventually-they all unwind.
Solitude reveals how you’ve sinned,
Unadulterated,unsullied.
No shroud of lies,no veil.
This time- you must pay heed.
Suffering,pain,hate and grief,
Everything you postponed to feel-all will be aligned.
Awaiting their turn to be processed,
Your eyes welling up you’ll find.
The grief of bereavement,
Eventually travels from denial to acceptance.
It takes over your entire being,
Only to end in catharsis and balance.
The pain of love lost and squandered, Has your chest in a suffocating grip.
Let it ache, ache as it clasps, unclasps,
Till you think you can breathe again.
The silence of solitude, echoing,
In the deep chasms of depressed souls.
Rendering you weak and lifeless,
And resonating melancholy tones.
Let not the solitude frighten you,
But give you the strength to conquer. Let it remind you to be grounded in the moment,
And to not intentionally let your mind wander.
In the deafening silence of solitude, Your mind exposed and naked. No one to hide from, Nothing to hide,
The stillness reins you in.
