Solace

By Manpreet Singh

Oh, my solace —

No wonder, you are a beautiful place.

Restlessness is out here; your doorsteps are where I end my chase.

Like a sunny spring’s morning — words fall short to write you an embrace.

This is where I meet myself — meet myself face to face.

With me, all my worries and joys sit side by side,

Which one by one, I erase.

Oh, my solace—

No wonder, you are a beautiful place.

Like no one, ever will be there for me—forever,

I guess it will be only me,

In this whole empty space.

In the crystal moonshine, along with the high tides,

I feel a little high too —

Lost there in time, without any trace.

What you have there — is not to be found here.

A sad reality of life, or shall I call it disgrace?

Oh, my dear solace —

No wonder, you are magical — and a beautiful place.
