Slovenly Path

Slovenly Path

Yet no urge to go somewhere clean

Time’s flying, yet I count every second

They claim the world’s in front of me, yet it’s confined to one laptop screen

Gone are instruments

That once intertwined to create a symphony

Life’s taken such a turn that the sound of the ticking clock

Has become the most reverberant melody

The mirror remains the same

So does my appearance

But the reflection seems to look different every time

Every time, more melancholic than before

I have a canvas

But the colors I have are just 2, black and white

What about green for spring and red for love?

And what about the yellow so bright?

That highlights the summer delight

The road is full of serrated turns

I really want to brake

But my foot has been welded onto the accelerator

Despite my precarious self being at stake

I often ask myself,

“Is the journey ahead like this?

Or will my road ahead be different?

Will the concern ever show, or will the numbers dictate the surrounding to be impertinent?

Is this just a phase after which I’ll be set free?

Or is this an era

Carved into my destiny?

An era,

That’ll last till eternity?”
