Sleep! My Mind.
By Rakesh Goneti
I rested my back.
To the softest cushion.
Weighing down the wooden fours.
Inches away from my grandfather’s granite.
His two storey dream.
To the upper crust.
And water drains, built my modern men.
And many many worms, growing on them.
Billion aged rock beds.
Mighty mineral ores.
Our predecessor’s land.
Earth heart, the hell.
The other side, their sun.
I gazed ,
At my mom.
And her earned, ceiling.
Soon to be green, terrace.
It’s future dews.
Clouds pouring down.
And tired migrators meet.
Under our layered atmosphere.
Their wings, far from me.
I closed my eye lids.
To feel,
Vast lands up above.
The moon.
The eternal darkness.
