Haunting curiosity consciousness battles
The unchallenged victor of the wake
All carefully coded in morbid illusions
Tucked away on the highest shelf
Consciousness out blurred
Knocked down by victor of slumber
Fickle sleep sneak conjures up webs
The spells cast kaleidoscopic figures
Spun up in the sticky webs of screams and slaughter
As blood flows free and smiles turn terror
Flailing against the new threads of flashes
Writhing, begging, failing hoping
In the hours of wake and un-awake
Mushed now, sanity mediates the battle
None shall prevail in my reign
Life shall go on, no matter smiles, no matter slaughter
Holding out the torch of fate
Slumber passes on to sleep’s dismay
Once more the cycle sets in motion
All is happy and all is gay
I am not gone, I haven’t left
All my spells will linger, just beyond the grey
Day by day stronger I do grow
The illusions, your reality soon
Snickers the bribing devil conspicuous
Underling of the conscious
Charges forth now unawake’s charioteer
Sanity aghast only manages ‘You betrayer’
I, unawake, stand unchallenged
The victory supreme so sweet
Slumber is now all you will ever need
Conscious reality a sandy desert dreary
I have, yet again, your wishes fulfilled
My master, I say, the harbinger of ultimate slumber
The cloaked figure turns towards the lover
Beckoning the soldier, lover, a little closer
Wrenches a blow, swift
Shocked, the servant looks up in horror
Echoes, my dear fool, as away slumps life
Never gets old to see the strife
