"Skies, Leaves & Eyes,"

Crimson sky, did you bleed today?

Did you have a spin around the globe?

Or did you dazzle just for me today?

Whispering leaves, what did you say?

I heard a humor... that you have the secrets

One's I have been craving

Would you mind sharing?

Make your wishes known.

I would plant for you,

Maybe turn others grey too.

The day i swore to hate you,

The skies thundered and branches fell,

I'd have hung the stars for you.

But you...you left,

How dared you? I have wanted to say.

Of course, you didn't hear my sirens,

I forget, you couldn't read eyes,

Maybe you didn't want to read mine,

Sometimes I prayed that I read yours right,

Crossed my fingers for them.

Some days they were blue,

Your eyes, rooted and shadowed,

Between the longest of lashes.

Curved and wide.

Do they always hide there?

Would I ever be allowed a peak within?

Some days they were pink,

Dancing on tiptoes,

You smelled of 5 am mornings,

Letting go of you every time I woke,

Such a glow around you, darling.

Some days they are yellow,

Voice as deep as the oceans,

I let your words.....have a moment in me,

Let them wonder around in my mind,

If only you knew,

How often they come to visit.

They sustain me most days now.

Some days they are brown,

Just as they are meant to be,

Broken crests here and there,

Reminded me of the coffee we shared,

You love food, everyone says.

They say you love to feed.

I'm trying to be like you now.

If that is the only way you let me be

Within your reach.
