Sisters Of The Deep
By Hiba Maria
The sea soothes my stressed soul, As I stroll upon her shelly shores, Supple sands shape stories short-lived, Swept away by waves soft, yet swift. What secrets do you keep,
Salty ocean sweet and deep?
You and I are much alike,
Past the surface and the tide. Silent, not a word she says,
As we stare into each other's depths. Which is deeper, who can know, When neither wants to show. Still, I love my sister, the sea,
Despite her fretful secrecy.
