Silenced Through The Ages

By Umaima Areesha Ansari

Born with voices like rivers,

Wild and untamed,

Yet shackled by whispers,

That places all the blame

On themselves.

For the crimes

Of a world unjust,

Where silence is gold,

And the truth turns to dust.

Through centuries long,

Their screams went ignored,

The truth buried deep,

Where injustice is stored.

A system blind not to the truth,

But to the money and power,

Turning it’s back

In the darkest hour.

Still they endure,

They learn, they ignite,

Their whispers like sparks

In the dead of the night.

Rising together,

Refusing to yield,

Each women is a weapon,

Their words are their shields.

For silence can’t smother

What won’t stay contained,

Their voices grow louder,

Their fury unchained.

And one day soon,

The world will confess,

It is them who will shape

What comes next.
