Silence in Night

By Dhriti Arya

Silence speaks.

Oh really it does!

Sometimes nothingness seems my peace.

Walk into the night taciturn,

and then will you overcome the fuss.

The magic of silence is what you'll learn.

Silence speaks.

At times more than words.

Especially for those whose sorrow freaks

from words leaking from the tongue,

for those who're unable to find a shoulder to cry what hurts,

whose woes behind smiles remain unsung.

O my pen and heavenly ink!

To thou I beseech,

to ride along with me when life floats and sinks,

as ye always were my silence’s companion.

The world's our paper to study and preach,

so let's step together in the moon of solace, away from the sun.
