Silence Has Been My Song

By Bhavya Mohta

In a world so gloomy, I see,

Misunderstood by all, can it be?

Am I wrong, or am I right?

Lost and lonely in my plight.

Some folks ignore me; can't you see?

Is my aura dark, or is it me?

Is it wrong to seek some joy?

Have I hurt others, oh boy!

Every day I question why,

It's hard to live, it's hard to try.

I'm at a loss, don't know what to say,

Maybe I'm just in dismay.

Yearning for someone to understand me,

Just a lonely soul, like a honey bee.

Not harsh, just unapologetically bold,

Cannot sugar-coat or do as I'm told.

I stand firm in my own will,

That's just me, and I'm staying still.

However bold I may seem,

I weep in solitude, like a distant dream.

They think I'm brash and wrong,

But silence has been my song.
