Sign Me a Confession

By Nimain Charan Biswal

Can anyone

sign me a note of confession:

to live the remaining world

amidst the pleasure of being blossomed

into a flower that will never have

the nightmare of fading out before smelling the odor

of a dew-clad red-red orange-born Sun

at the advent of a soothing morn!

Will you agree with me

that the night of age-old chaos and ignorance

shall pass away

leaving the world with a newly-promised Sun

that will move round illuminating the dark shades of reality

removing all that is born of hatred and intolerance

eliminating all that distances one from the other

erasing those dark lines that divide

me from you

East from the West

Church from Mosque ,Temple or Gurudwara

the haves from the have nots

the Jews from the Gentiles

giving birth to a newly found World?

Will tomorrow’s Sun

see the lost smiles brought back on the dark streets of Gaza

shining with the remaining rays of life

in the children and pregnant widows who

least survived in the face of thousand armed strikes?

Will the so-called Gods already gone underground

leaving their followers to clash together

come out and unmask their lofty designs

and finally celebrate a get-together

at the World’s big restaurant?

Allah, Jisu and Ram

will dine together

ignoring the races they belong to!

Sign me a confession!

The Poem is not the expression of a guilt but a thirst for global peace through unification of various races and their religions in to one home.

The use of vivid imagery like 'Mosque', 'Temple' , 'Church and gurudwar' Makes the Poem technically sound and meaningful. 'Allah' , 'Jisu', and 'Ram' indicate the unity in diversity.

The poem is a hopeful plea for unity and compassion, imagining a world beyond hatred, religious division, and violence, where humanity can finally live in peace.
