It’s the sick days where I can finally let go The few days where i’m not obliged to be productive The few days where I can be in bed all day Escaping any guilt

The days where mumma brings me tea

Where I listen to jazz as it rains

watch my favourite tv shows with a bowl of Maggi Remaining unaware of the clock and its hands I don’t have to go anywhere

Nor do anything

I enjoy my own company

While sipping my ginger tea

It’s not so bad being sick

At least for a while

There’s times where you wish you could turn back time at the end of the week, your face is bright glowing again, with your illuminating smile I’m rested now

Back to the daily hustle

Heaven can’t last forever

As it definitely shouldn’t
