Shooting Star
By Pranitha R
On a lovely evening
When the sky was going down the purple sky
When the moon hesitated to come out amidst the stars
When the cool breeze blew your hair on that humid day
When everything seemed quiet and calm around me
Your smile came and fell on me like rain
On a midsummer night
So unusual, so surprising, so beautiful
My eyes locked on you
I got lost in yours.
You looked like the focused picture
Blurring away everything except you
You were the glow of fire in the snowy mountains
Giving just enough warmth and light
You were the whispers of the river
Comforting the eternal loneliness of the forest
And at that moment, I wished to see a shooting star for this to never end
But little did I know,
I was already looking at one.
