She Stands In Kalyug

By Greeva Shah

She walks through Kalyug,

where shadows stretch longer than dawn,

where safety is not a promise,

but a battle fought in silence.

Not every girl is safe—

This is no myth, no metaphor.

It is the ache of reality,

etched into every glance, every street, every breath.

Even Draupadi,

wrapped in divinity and destiny,

was torn by hands that knew no reverence.

And the gods?

They watched, delayed, or did not come.

So, she learns—

not to wait for miracles,

but to become one.

To guard her dignity like flame in wind,

to rise not for applause,

but because falling is no longer an option.

She does not blame the stars,

nor curse the sky.

She carves her path through the storm,

with courage as her compass,

and truth as her shield.

There is no escape—

only endurance.

Only the choice to stand,

to speak,

to burn quietly

and light the way for others.
