She's Just The Same, But, She's Different
By Dominica J.S. Marbaniang
She's just a woman,
As ordinary as she could be.
She's beautiful,
As lovely as a daisy.
She's 5 feet tall, and,
Oh, so pretty! My oh my!..
How gracefully she carries
her beauty.
Dear women, women of today.
Yes, you. I feel you.
Like yours, my heart aches too.
Behind every precious smile,
Is an urge to breakdown too.
Not a sense of belonging,
Neither revered too.
In it's most undignified ways,
Life has taught me to be silent.
Silent? Yes.
A cruel form of diligence.
Life has never been so unpredictable,
My pillar of support
Left my thought in shambles.
Not an ear to listen,
Neither a sense of understanding,
Yet, here I am today,
Shattered, but still standing.
I have no regrets,
And so shouldn't you.
You are born for a purpose,
Keep striving through.
You are a blessing.
You are remarkable.
You are just as ordinary, but,
You are powerful.
I am just as human,
And so are you.
Generally outspoken,
But often left broken.
What I perceive may definitely be different,
But what really matters
Is what I believe in.
No words can outdo,
No care can outshine,
For what I believe in,
Is gracious divine.
I have no role model,
Neither do I need one.
The situations I endured,
I fantasize none.
Surrounded by people
I don't want to be like,
It was enough for me
To better understand life.
I am sufficient,
Sufficient in Grace.
Faith is all I've got,
Enough to win the race.
