Seventeen and Forever

Seventeen, with dream so wide,
she walked beside me and time stood tied,
her laughter rang, her touch was light,
her love, a flame that burned so bright.
Her braided hair, like a river, long,
flowing deep like a silent song,
each twist, each turn, a story spun,
of widespread love and days begun.
My first embrace, my trembling heart,
a world where we would never part,
a kiss so soft, a promise made,
to stand as one through light and shade.
I wished to hold her, never stray,
to walk with her, till time gave way,
but fate had inked, a different scroll
still, she breathes within my soul.
I’ll love you forever, it’s my word to you,
my heavenly doe, may it always be true.

Reminded of our college days!! Those young days have been described eloquently
Poetry bares one's soul and things that touched them deeply. Good one!
Very nice
