Set The Words Free
By Chaitra Ramalingegowda
If I could write I’d set all the words free,
free to follow you,
to tell you all the
wonder and secrets
of life and love and solitude,
of all that’s mysterious,
of wisdom that comes with experience.
If I could write I’d set all the words free,
free to hug you
and keep you warm at night,
shield you from the dark,
when you feel cold and alone,
when you’re not you,
when loneliness haunts you.
If I could write I’d set all the words free,
free to weave your dreams
of tomorrow and all the days after,
with hope stitched in there
that they come true
one day – soon,
because words are all I have.
