Seedlings

By Sujatha.R

Seedlings planted on soft petall’d earth

Absorption of water on barren land

The mud in rough grains hard to bore

The moist made the earth colorful

As a kid every day woke up from my sleep

I sat with folded legs and stared on the land

Wishful thought, the seed sprouted to my joy

She showed up tiny embryo with seed coat

The seed coat grew roots luxuriously

She threw her skin bringing the cotyledon

Thus sprouted up the foliage leaves

The petiole bridged leaves to the stem

I saw the earth’s gift to man

Wished time to pick up her steps fast

That I could see the blossoming flower

Nature hath bestowed man manifold

Endless desire lead far beyond the moon

Destruction only means to reformat our thinking?

To enjoy the bliss of fresh air by the countryside?

Dreams are many!
