Secrets of the Merry Maiden

In her conduct, oh how joyful and mirthful,

These people approach her in anguish and woeful.

Torments they utter of boiling inside,

The people were bold enough to recognise her as one to confide.

But oh, did they realise that she had secrets of her own?

The merry maiden had been storing sorrows alone.

For those who have the guts to dump their troubles here

Had better reclaim them, for none shall she bear.

Then in a sudden turn of events, bitterness began to bloom,

Silent venom leading her into her doom.

Though her heart, set ablaze, was burning bright,

She smiled and wished her companions a wonderful night.

And one day, she realised that her load had grown too heavy,

Her veil torn asunder, her destiny altered forever.

She stood up and threw her troubles at their feet,

Discovering, in her depths, a heart at ease.

That very day the sun emerged into the sky,

And all her woes vanished, drifting by.
