Sea - Our Primordial Mother

To walk on land, we’d emerged from the sea, eons ago.

Made sixty parts of water, and holding all her minerals,

we are little sea bodies with legs.

And she-

Our Primordial Mother.

Can you almost hear her beckon,

with her dance of the waves?

And as she glistens like emerald, at high noon

a mother bejewelled,

waiting to greet her children at the shore, she hurls-

her garlands of pearl white tides, that

melt upon our embrace.
