Scream

By Pranitha R

The world did not end with a bang, but rather one scream at a time

Screams from lost childhood of toddlers who grew up as the future’s machines

Screams from the lost dreams of teenagers who struggled to hold on in this ridiculously busy world

Screams from the shaken lives of the adults striving to survive

Screams from the hearts of tired souls who awaited death

Screams from the lost names and lost dreams became louder but nobody cared to listen

Screams from the nature shook the world but we were too busy to notice

And there came the fall of civilization.

First, humans disappeared

Then country lands turned to ashes

And those were cleared out by storms and oceans without a trace

Not a single soul was left on Earth

It was all burnt down one at a time.

After destroying everything here for the sake of it, the world rested in silence

After all the screams were lost and forgotten for good

Only the sun and the moon were left and God was in despair but after all is lost,

All is found

And that’s what was hoped by the ones who lived to hear the story.
