School Life

In the classroom’s quiet, desks aligned just so,

We whispered secrets where no teacher dared to go.

Amidst the pages and the chalk dust in the air,

We smuggled snacks to munch on, our secret we’d share.

With furtive glances and stifled laughs,

We’d pass around our snacks like contraband drafts.

From chocolate bars to chips, our hunger we’d beat,

In the haven of our desks, a clandestine retreat.

Then came PT, where the playground called our name,

With bursts of energy, cricket became our spirited game.

From batting stances to fielding with might,

Our laughter echoed loud, our spirits alight.

But in maths class, the energy would wane,

Numbers and equations would cloud our brain.

We’d count the minutes till the bell would chime,

Longing for freedom and the end of that time.

Through school days’ rhythm, this balance we’d find,

Between classroom feasts and cricket games of every kind.

Those moments of mischief, of learning and play,

In school life’s tapestry, forever they’ll stay.
