Scary Thoughts

Scary whispers creep through the night

Shadows dance, just out of sight

In the flicker of a dimming glow

Monsters lurk, feelings grow

Witches cackle with wicked glee

Underneath my bed, what could it be?

From haunted halls to horror tales,

Ghostly ships with tattered sails.

A masked figure with a twisted grin,

A game of hide and seek within.

Shivering stories, dark as coal,

Tickling nerves and chilling the soul.

In the flurry of flickering lights,

I brace myself for terrors’ flights.

What was that thump? What’s that beat?

Pounding echoes pull me from my seat.

The clock ticks softly, the silence loud,

Imagination sparks, a haunting shroud.

Through the lens of fright I peer,

Nerve-wracking wonders draw me near.

So, I close my eyes, breathe in the chill,

Let the darkness unfold, let it thrill.

Terrifying yet exquisite in its sound,

A frightening pleasure, oh so profound.

Wha..._what was that sound?
