Sapphire

By Alee Chery

I am no ordinary man.

Who am I?

You can call me Sapphire

I’m the rhythm and blues.

An old soul

A tune played again and again.

I’m your déjà vu

A familiar place

Felt before.

But our time is short.

For I’m a traveler

In a foreign city

And we’re just 2 melodies.

intertwined

in the rhythm of love

Scratching the surface

Of the fire you feel inside

Swaying hips

To a Jazzman’s blues

Spinning you around

the dance floor.

Like the vinyl record

We dancing to

A lullaby vibe

You feel at home with

Who am I?

You can call me Sapphire
