Salamander

By Ramesh Kumar TV

Do not seek acceptance from a lesser person.

The dilemma born of indecision

breeds self-doubt—

and that, in turn, builds false pride

in the unknown.

Their weakness wraps us

in illusions of loyalty,

like a candle burning at both ends,

consumed in silence,

without a trace of wax.

This kind of person

rarely fails in battles,

but always loses the war—

a chameleon shifting colors for anyone,

yet never rooted in truth.

It is better to be a salamander:

capable of regrowing what’s lost—

shedding the dismembered dilemma

of a failed past.
