ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE

A Dark Gothic Poem

Roses are red, violets are blue

Shadows are creeping, but you don't have a clue

Whispers crawl deep through the cracks in the wall

Echoes of laughter in the long silent hall

Mirrors are cracked but you still see your face

Twisted and torn, in this god's forsaken place

Hope is a myth that the dead often tell

A lullaby sung at the gates of the hell.

Roses are red but they bloom in the grave

Guarding the secrets but no one to save

Time is a thief with mouth full of lies

An illusion of peace, while you move towards your demise.

Love is a dagger warm in the sheath

It whispers sweet nothings and hides its teeth.

Violets are blue but they blacken with time

Hearts once pure are now full of grime

Clocks are ticking, moving in their own pace

Living are trapped, within these hollow space

Sleep with 1 eye open and dream with none

The night isn't over but the end has begun.

Roses are red violets are blue

Beauty means nothing, if only you knew

Petals fall soft where lost souls reside

In garden where hope and happiness have died

Windows are blackened, curtains drawn tight

No comfort, no warmth, just absence of light

Floor boards remember each step you take

They creak out stories that keeps you awake

Roses are red but they thrive in the dust

Fed with shadows and strong bloodlust

They smile with your sorrows, they breathe when you scream

They cradle your mind in the arms of a dream

The halls stretch far, clocks mislead

Time here is broken, It watches you bleed

Candles burn low, casting demons in wax

Each flame a story, each shadow an attack

Your name is written on parchment with ash

Signed by the silence in 1 final flash.

Violets are blue but they fade with black

They wilt in the soil, to never come back

They know what you've buried, they've tasted your sins

They drink from the cracks under your skin

The house knows your name, it's built like a tomb

It feeds of your fear, it waits for your doom

You knock, it laughs but lets you inside

Cause now you're a page in the stories it hides

Roses are red, violets are blue

The darkness is patient and waiting for you.
