Rose and Lily

Once upon a time the Hope family lived in a large bungalow. They were very rich. The cleaner that cleaned the Hopes house was very cunning. He was planning to steal a very precious and expensive vase from there. Mr. Viktor Hope caught him in the act and the cleaner was given to the police.

After a few years, the cleaner was released from prison. He hadn’t changed one bit from the time he worked at the Hopes.

While in the Hopes house, Mrs. Georgina Hope had given birth to children. The cleaner came to know of this and he made a plan to steal the child to take revenge. That was because the Hopes had sent him to prison many years ago. When he reached the hospital where Mrs. Hope was staying, he saw that she had given birth to twin girls. He had a plan. His wife had always wanted a child. Nobody had visited Mrs. Hope as she had just been operated. So, he could take away one child for his wife and nobody would know that she had given birth to twins.

As he had hoped the plan went perfectly and nobody knew that she had given birth to twins. Many years passed by and the twin girls grew up. One in the cleaner’s house and the other in the Hopes’ house. Both the girls were different. The girl that had grown in the cleaner’s house’s name was Rose and she was cunning and stole things just like him. While the other twin’s name was Lily and she was very kind just like her parents and was a police officer.

One day, Rose and Lily were walking on the same sidewalk. Rose whose eyes were on Lily’s pocket instead of Lily, as always, was planning to steal whatever she had in her pocket. Lily saw Rose trying to steal her belongings and arrested her at once. She was surprised on seeing that she looked just like her.

As soon as the cleaner heard of this, he came straight to the police station. He was shocked to see that the police officer who had arrested Rose was none other than her other twin. He didn’t want to say the truth to Lily so he just requested Lily to let her out and that she will be a good girl afterwards. But Lily disagreed. So, he had to tell the truth that they both were twins and why they grew in different houses. They both were very surprised to hear this.

“I am ashamed of you. It was because of you that I learned to steal. Why didn’t you become a good man after you were sent to jail by the Hopes. I deserve to be sent to prison after all the stealing I have done.”, Rose said to him. “No, you don’t deserve it Rose. You have learnt your lesson. I have belief in you. I know you will not break my trust.”, said Lily. “Thank you very much Lily, I am very grateful to you. What about you, dad?”, Rose said sharply to the cleaner. “I have learnt my lesson too dear. I will never think of stealing ever again, Rose.”, the cleaner replied.

From that day Rose, Lily, her family and the cleaner, (without whom Rose couldn’t live) stayed in the same house. One thing that came out good out of all these things was that the Hope family was united again.
