Roots of Resilience

Amidst the morning dew, there was a plant.

Which was mature enough to grow a branch.

Which grew a flower and bore a Peach.

Which fell and broke, to the squirrel’s relief.

Leaving behind a seed.

And the seed receded into mother nature's womb.

Beneath the earth where shadows creep,

the peach seed stirs from silent sleep,

Through stone and soil, it must spread.

By trials borne, its life is fed

Through the Storms the rage and the droughts that bite

the seedling reaches out for light

hey tender leaves face the winds unkind,

yet strength is forged, by which odds abide

In deep darkness, it learnt to grow,

each scar it bore, a tale would show,

 the sweetest fruit, a truth concealed;

Is born in hardship forced against grit,

This might be about a seed,

but a lesson that man must heed.
