Romantic Reminiscence
By S.Alagulakshmi
(An Ode to Monalisa)
You beside me,
breathing in every note of my key.
I plead with you to set me free,
before my soul conjugates the cosmic.
Fingers run across those zebra keys,
where my heart buzzes like a billion bees.
Waiting for you, on my knees,
hoping my heart does not break into pieces.
Seated alone on the bench of the Louvre Museum,
where my thoughts revolved around you like a carousel.
Walking through those corridors,
to explore the impeccable art,
that created an impact on my heart.
My hands running through your hair,
with cosy care,
to embrace your fairness,
without lending fare.
Is that fair?
Someone is watching me,
throughout the scene.
When I turned back,
her espied eyes upon me,
were picturing the silhouette in keen.
Her silent smile,
whispers a thousand secrets,
which echoes the air,
and binds me back there,
where I stare,
to maze in amaze.
Every time I march forward,
the memories that I spent with you,
makes me feel blue,
leaving no clue,
not knowing why, it brings me back to you.
As I move forward,
my eyes pause on the same old keys.
My heart whees,
the minute I see,
those zebra keys,
prompting to compose an ode to you.
