Rise Beyond The Fall

As the moon glazed the white surface of the palace,

Making it shine almost like glitter

I sat there looking at the stars above and city below.

As the seconds ticked away like the years of my life

And the once noise filled air settled like dust

I started to wonder of where I would go next.

…To the stars to reach the next level

Or back to my beginnings to prove myself once more?

For I once was down there in the slums fighting and struggling for every speck of hope,

And now being above them, I do wonder what is above me?

But having seen those who escaped the god forsaken land and got greedy

Fell back in. I know that caution is what my fallen forerunners lacked

And that is why I was able to rise above.

I do wish I went for the stars

And I will always wonder what could have been,

But for now, I shall sit on my windowsill and look at the ants below fight for the right to live

While I live out the rest of my time wishing upon a falling star hoping the answer will fall to me.
