Rest, My Phoenix

Your world will crash down

You will break bit by bit

The glass of your soul,

will shatter until it becomes sand

The world around you will feel abstract

Food will lose its salt

Spirit will lose its fire

The walls will scream of your flaws

The snickers and doubts will only grow louder

All will look lost, but remember

The sun will never stop making its fire

Your favourite books will still wait for you

The rain, and it's petrichor will still calm your soul

the desk where you lost your peace at

will still wait for your creativity

the world will still wait for you

the spirit will rekindle its fire

But, when you are ready

Until then, rest, my phoenix

Give your burnt wings some solace

For you have to rise from the ashes

and when you do, the world will see your wings and fire.

This is absolutely beautiful. The phoenix metaphor is so perfect for this.
