Every place I’d sailed to before

Was hollow, haunted and weeded

Till I landed on your quiet shore

Didn’t know it was what I needed.

Where the sun didn’t burn my skin

And the wind didn’t make me shiver

Where my halted heart

Felt like a flowing river

I know you’ve been hurt before

Wish I could make you believe

That I would light your path with candles

Even if you wanted to leave.

So many have told you to be strong

As if they understand your fears

I say it’s okay for you to cry

So long you let me wipe your tears

Your beautiful mind

The thoughts within

The curve of your smile

The warmth from your skin.

I always felt something was missing in me

Now I know what that part is

If I could somehow paint you

Id finally understand what art is

No matter what thrill I chase

Or how far I roam

the feeling for your arms around me

Is that I believe is home

I followed a lone firefly

Through the night as it flew

I was trying to find myself

And it led me to you.
